Help Build the Future of ACM at UToledo

The ACM Student Chapter at the University of Toledo is currently recruiting students who want to become more involved and help shape our organization.

We are looking for students to join our leadership and marketing teams, but you do not need to commit to a specific role to become part of ACM. Whether you want to take on a leadership position, help behind the scenes, work on events and projects, or simply meet other students and see where you fit in, we’d love to have you.

No prior leadership experience is required. We’re looking for people who are responsible, willing to learn, and excited to contribute.

Open Roles

Vice President

The Vice President works closely with the President and other board members to help ACM run smoothly and continue growing throughout the year.

The Vice President may be involved in:

  • Helping plan and organize ACM events and activities
  • Recruiting and welcoming new members
  • Reaching out to other student organizations for collaborations
  • Connecting with companies, speakers, and other organizations when needed
  • Helping oversee ACM projects and supporting project leads
Coordinating with board members and helping keep projects on track
  • Representing ACM at meetings and events when needed
  • Assisting the President with organizational responsibilities
  • Taking initiative on projects and tasks that help ACM grow
  • Stepping in wherever additional support is needed.

This role is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, organizing projects, and being involved in different parts of an organization.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for helping ACM manage its budget and finances throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the President to plan ACM’s spending for the year
  • Preparing and submitting annual budget requests
  • Completing required university financial training
  • Communicating with the appropriate university offices and staff regarding purchases
  • Helping place orders for food, supplies, and event materials
  • Keeping track of ACM expenses and remaining funds
  • Maintaining receipts and financial records
  • Making sure purchases are properly documented
  • Helping ensure ACM’s spending follows university requirements

This role is a good fit for someone who is organized, responsible, and comfortable keeping track of details.

Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for helping ACM reach students and promote everything our chapter has to offer.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining ACM’s Instagram page
  • Creating and distributing event flyers
  • Promoting upcoming events and activities
  • Helping maintain and update the ACM website
  • Creating social media content
  • Advertising events across campus and online
  • Helping communicate announcements and opportunities to members
  • Coming up with new ways to reach and engage students
  • Working with the board to develop promotional materials

You do not need to be an experienced graphic designer or social media manager. If you enjoy design, social media, photography, writing, communication, or simply want to learn, we’d love to have you.

Not Sure Which Role Is Right for You?

That’s completely okay!

You can join ACM without taking on a specific role.

If you’re interested in ACM but aren’t sure whether you want to focus on leadership, marketing, events, projects, or something else, you can start as a general member and figure out where you’d like to contribute as you get involved.

You can:

  • Attend ACM events
  • Meet other members
  • Participate in projects
  • Volunteer at events
  • Help with activities that interest you
  • Explore different areas of ACM
  • Take on more responsibility when you’re ready

You don’t have to know exactly what you want to do before joining.

As you get involved, you may discover an area that you’re particularly interested in and decide to take on a more specific role.

Who Are We Looking For?

You don’t need to have everything figured out, and you don’t need previous experience.

We’re looking for students who are:

  • Interested in technology, computing, engineering, or learning new things
  • Reliable and willing to contribute
  • Comfortable working with others
  • Interested in meeting new people and building a community
  • Willing to learn new skills
  • Excited to help plan events, projects, or activities
  • Interested in making ACM a more active and welcoming organization at UToledo

Students from all majors and experience levels are welcome.

What Can You Get Involved In?

ACM is more than just a leadership organization. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to participate in:

Technical Workshops
Learn new tools, technologies, and skills through hands-on activities.

Projects
Work with other students to build and explore ideas outside the classroom.

Career & Networking Events
Connect with recruiters, professionals, and organizations and learn about opportunities in technology and engineering.

Collaborations
Work with other UToledo student organizations and members of the broader university community.

Social Events
Meet other students, grab some food, play games, and have fun outside of class.
